Love old school breakfast places like eating in Mayberry. Huge egg's benefits that was cooked perfectly! Lots of locals which shows this is a hot spot for good food.

What a find! We were leaving a wedding party in Placerville and stopped in Auburn for a quick brunch before we headed back to the Bay Area. Plenty of parking as it's located in a strip mall type-location. We had seven in our party. We didn't have to wait at all. They immediately moved tables and chairs to accommodate us. The food came quickly and they brought out all the accoutrements we asked for- Cholula, Tapatio, Tabasco, a chili sauce. We all ordered the fresh Orange juice and coffee. The group ordered an assortment of their breakfast platters and benedicts (all between appx. $12-$20). The platters offered a ton of food: eggs, meat, salsa, potatoes, toast, avocado). We also ordered a table peach and sugared ginger waffle and it was delicious. We had a great time and if/ when we come back through/ to Auburn- we will definitely stop by again. Thanks for the great meal.

I had the hillbilly mainly because I wanted to try the country fried bacon. It was pretty good, but I wished there was more than just one strip of it. I also enjoyed the gravy on top of my biscuit. Portions are quite big. Service is efficient. The food came out quickly. Whenever a table was finished and the party left, it was bussed quickly. We came before the rush of people, so we didn't have to wait for a table. If you find yourself in the area, check it out!

My husband and I stopped here after an early morning hike at Hidden Falls! We already had breakfast that day, so we were excited to know that you could get lunch at 10:45 am!! The staff was all so friendly and the restaurant was really clean, that's what I noticed first. The burger was delicious!! My husband definitely got the prize for tastiest entree, although my chicken sandwich was really tasty too! We got a salad instead of fries. The salad was cold, crispy, and fresh! The iced tea was plentiful and freshly brewed - we were even given a refill for the road. We weren't offered dessert, so I'm not sure if they have anything sweet or not. We were basically just handed the check after our plates were cleared. It felt a little unceremonious - which was a weird ending for a really great meal.

This is what you call "a hole in the wall". Received a warm welcome, served promptly and the food was delicious. The hillbilly plate was outstanding!

Friendly service. Reasonable prices. Great food. Can't ask for anything more. Came in around 9:30 on a Sunday and it was surprisingly not crowded! Though as we left, the restaurant was full. It looks pretty old school in there, which I really like at a breakfast place. That's how it should be. The Hillbilly is super good and interesting. Chicken fried bacon had a real tasty breading, though it's probably not something I'd get again. It was really good and worth a try once, but I think I'll stick with my usual breakfast staples. Hashbrowns were nice and crispy. Biscuit was HUGE. It was just a giant mound of biscuit on the plate. It was nice and crumbly on the outside, moist on the inside. Perfect. And the gravy was so good. It had big chunks of meat in it too. The wife really enjoyed her vegan scramble. She isn't usually a fan of tofu but this one she really liked. I took a bite, veggies in it tasted really fresh and it was good (though I'll take my meat and eggs thank you). I'm really appreciative of the fact that they have several vegan options! Means I don't have to eat deep fried bacon alone. Highly recommend. We will be back when we're visiting up north again.

Food was okay. I've eaten here a few times and the prices have gone up a lot! Our bill was $50 (with tip) for two meals and two soda drinks. We ordered a stack of pancakes and a French dip! Will not be eating here again just because of the steep prices for what we ordered.
